About Our Pastor
Pastor Tray has a tremendous passion for economic empowerment, entrepreneurial development and innovating the minds of people of all ages through God’s love and financial literacy. Economic equality is the mission and Tray firmly believes that the tools and concepts of financial literacy enables the ability to build confidence, tenacity and social consciousness which are pivotal to developing a thriving society.
At the age of 14 Pastor Tray began ministering the gospel as an evangelist and a gospel event organizer and in the same year under Pastor Alton Louis Merrill Sr. leadership was called to ministry. In 2003 during his Senior year at Warren G. Harding H.S. in Warren, OH, Tray commissioned and birthed a unique ministry focused on youth and young adults entitled “The Chain-breaker Experience.” Through this movement he was able to create a county wide bible club in Trumbull County that focused on touching and connecting many high schools in the state of Ohio.
Upon graduating from high school, he started his freshmen year at The Ohio State University as a history major and in 2005 submit to his calling once more and left to attend Beulah Heights University in Atlanta, GA, as a Community & International Economic Development major and Biblical Education minor. While attending Beulah Heights University Pastor Tray worked as the Chief Executive Officer of The Reformation Project, and Chief Program Manager at The Life Changing Movement inc. in Atlanta, GA where he was able to increase target-market program growth by 27% through designing and launching a new strategy, increased investment ca from capital 300% within one month by spearheading and implementing a highly effective marketing campaign, and exceeded a business goal of 25% market share for one program, propelling overall market share beyond 35%; served as the Youth Pastor at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Miami, FL, and was named the Community Organizer & Senior Pastor at The Experience for six years. He is currently 5 classes from graduating from Beulah Heights University with a Master’s Degree in Biblical studies & Theological Principles.
Currently he is the Senior Pastor at Faith Christian Community Church in Port Huron Michigan and mentors’ entrepreneurs along with his wife, they recently launched their 2 Million/365: Mission Possible Campaign to raise money for The Media Arts Program, The Earl D. Shoulders Jr. Transitional Home for youth who have aged out of foster care, and to build an organic mini market.
Pastor Tray Smith truly cares less for titles but values the opportunity to serve wherever the Lord sees fit! His vision is uncompromisingly clear, with one central principle; to build and develop a kingdom of empowered people for God. Holding firmly to the commissioned mandate in Matthew 28:18-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations”, while taking the whole gospel to the whole world.
About Our First Lady
Shantell Smith is currently the CEO of Training 4 Life in Port Huron, Michigan. Before her counseling, mentoring, and pastoral work, she worked as the lead supervisor over CPS Investigations at the Department of Family and Children Services in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to her social work experience, she worked in law enforcement in Atlanta, Georgia, for 15 years. She graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in May 2008, a Master’s degree in Community Ministry and Social Work from Isaiah University of the Holy Ghost, she am 4 classes short of completing her Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership and she is a Certified Life Coach since September 2013.
Mrs. Smith is currently operating businesses from her home (selling life insurance and financial planning) and SMS Administrative Services – (completing administrative services for various clients). She and her husband recently closed one of their businesses, where she was the Executive Pastor at Experience the Mission Marketplace Ministry, which aided entrepreneurs in their business development by writing business plans, creating non-profit and for-profit organizations plus restructuring businesses while mentoring on Biblical business principles. She is also the director over the Women's Ministry at Faith Christian Community Church (the S.I.N.C.E.R.E. Women of Faith). Shantell continues to mentor teens and women within her church and community, developing programs that promote them to have healthy and healed lives while encouraging them to build their personal relationship with CHRIST.
Shantell is happily married with three children, four grandsons, one granddaughter and currently lives in Port Huron, Michigan. Pastor Smith is highly active in individual and group counseling sessions, creating effective trainings for her clientele/mentees and imparting into the intercessory prayer team at her local church. She is also a member of the choir, and the church praise & worship team. She enjoys having date/family night, researching scripture, watching movies, reading, and fellowshipping with believers.
Faith Christian Community Church is dedicated to providing a worship and education center that is Christ Exalting, Spirit filled, bible teaching and culturally diverse, that will impact the City, the Nation and the World.
